Avignon

First, I will go back yesterday which began with a walking tour of Avignon. This is an interesting town, that included visiting the Pope’s Palace, (feature image above) a huge edifice that housed the Popes during the time they were in France. (Pope’s Palace Pics) When I say huge, I mean HUGE! We also visited the Jewish Quarter

and walked to a very nice market similar to but smaller than the St, Lawrence Market in Toronto. Being near the Mediterranean it provided a very good selection of fish and shell fish.

I must say, the Europeans know how to market their products  through their display windows and the way product is displayed in the markets and shops. (More Avignon Pics)

The day wound up with a private cocktail party for the Ellison Travel group. This was a nice touch by Viking and Ellison. That left our final dinner on board the ship and then back to the room to pack.
